FEEDING YOUNG CHILDREN'S APPETITE FOR LEARNING

Celebrating the begining of Under 8's week

  Gladstone Marina Stage

Overview

Each year a dedicated group of pre-service, early childhood education professionals from CQ University combine with their local community to lift the profile of Early Childhood Education and Care. In the past this has been achieved by participating in Under 8's Week celebrations.

The year 2009 sparked a momentous occasion for Early Childhood Education and Care within our local community. Students decided to take things one step further, holding an event of their own: "TASTE AN ARTS SENSATION: Feeding Young Children's Appetite for Learning"

This event aimed to align 'The year of Creativity' with Queensland's 150th birthday celebrations to succesfully raise the profile of young children and Early Childhood services.

"Taste an Arts Sensation" was an event which celebrated the begining of Under 8's week and the year of creativity. It was held at the Gladstone Marina Stage area on Sunday, 24th May from 10am to 2pm. Families were invited to enjoy the live performances, food and drinks, art activities and displays at the event.
